LINET, as a company highly focused on pressure ulcer prevention, regularly supports the annual international “Stop Pressure Ulcers Day“, which is held every November. Despite all the advances in medicine, pressure ulcers are still a current and frequent problem that affect up to 23% of patients in hospitalization.
The occurrence of pressure ulcers is completely unnecessary, because with proper prevention it is possible to avoid this dangerous complication. This is why LINET has developed the new Virtuoso anti-decubitus mattresses that can help prevent and treat this issue. These mattresses use 3-cell technology that work on a zero-pressure principle where the part of the body of the patient is completely free of pressure, which essentially prevents the formation and development of pressure ulcers. The Virtuoso series is flexible, this means that the state-of-the-art technology can be utilized in the ICU and also for acute and long-term care. “The sophisticated anti-pressure ulcer systems we develop and produce can greatly help in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. We work with clinical professionals and we use empirical data and surveys”, explained Michaela Domerecká, LINET brand manager.
World Pressure Ulcers Prevention Day is organised by the EPUAP, the “European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel”, an organisation that focuses on leading and supporting people in their efforts to prevent and treat pressure ulcers. The European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel applauds the efforts of such events to bring pressure ulcers to the public, the professionals and our politicians.
